We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to form part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary Agile product team. You will be developing simple but highly effective web applications, using modern technologies, consisting of mainly React (Typescript), with backend C# and Java Web API RESTful services. It is an exciting time to be joining the software engineering department so you must be passionate about writing good quality, highly testable, user-driven software. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help coach and mentor more junior team members and be a point of escalation, promoting quality and best practices.
Responsibilities
Designing and developing quality, simple software using appropriate patterns Have a strong focus on our users’ needs, driving incremental delivery of software that has the highest value and address areas of risk in a timely manner. Working closely across the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the team delivers. Promoting knowledge sharing across the team and department, so colleagues can collaborate with you on the same codebase and ensure your team and colleagues are updated regularly, through agile ceremonies and use of software development lifecycle tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira). Continuously improving yourself, the team, and the department through ways of working, processes, or the adoption of new technologies Proactively identify risks (i.e. security, technical debt, antipatterns) associated with the software and suggest methods to alleviate these. Review code authored by colleagues, identifying potential problems, and provide constructive feedback and be a mentor to colleagues, taking an active role in their professional development. Take responsibility and manage priorities to provide a swift response, support investigations, and create appropriate fixes during live incidents. Support the delivery leads and architecture colleagues in identifying and defining the technical tasks and activities required to deliver user stories. Contract type: Permanent Working hours : Full Time – (Monday – Friday) Base location : Remote / South Bangalore Skills, Qualifications & Experience Strong understanding and commercial experience of developing web applications using an OOP language (e.g. Java or .NET core) and JavaScript/TypeScript Ability to write complex software and maintain it – Essential. Good technical skills with knowledge of solution design and application architecture Knowledge of how to develop within a continuous integration environment and provide constructive feedback through code reviews In-depth knowledge of security (i.e. OWASP, SQL injection, etc), software design patterns and technologies Familiarity with Git or similar source control Substantial experience with development responsibilities – fulfilling activities such as mentoring and developing colleagues, promoting best practice, introducing new tools, creating rapid prototypes, or developing proofs of concept – Essential About De La Rue De La Rue’s purpose is securing trust between people, businesses, and governments.
